The concept of the office as a home away from home is not always the visual solution of business interiors. The expression hang around the water cooler comes from the States and has become a symbolic purifier of human relations in a dystopian office environment. If we interpret an architectural form as a specific visible presence of a specific function at a certain location through a specific period of time, then the time which has been invested in the form from its beginning becomes an important element for understanding architecture. The temporal aspect of architecture is therefore one of the crucial aspects of openness – exposure to alterity – modifications and conversions.
